R Foot, Morton's Neuroma

During 50k race; felt sharp pains in the ball of my foot; was unable to run through the pain. Was diagnosed with Morton's Neuroma on 01/07. Tried padding in shoes and ordering wide width shoes.
2 weeks later-cortisone shot into the nerve.
