2/1 - started w/ mild discomfort during a run after swimming that AM. I think swimming did something to my back or my right hamstring or both.
2/2 - worsening hamstring pain during a run; have to stop & return home; straight leg test seems pos.; 2 tyl + 2 advil
2/4 - ran 12 miles on trails w/ some discomfort that moved around the back of my leg and hip
2/5 - felt ok, then sudden spasm in hamstr at 2 miles causes a stop; walking is impaired
2/6 - biked 1hr w/out pain on station bike
2/7 - cant run at all, just walk - theory is now disc pain
2/8-2/12 - mild stretching/elliptical; celebrex for 2 days, then advil; then 24 hrs bedrest due to illness
2/12 - 1hr on the treadmill at 830 - this was first run in 5 days - symptoms less but still consistent w/ disc pain; on the plus side=straight leg raise test is neg.; no numbness or weakness
2/13 - 1hr again on the treadmill; discomfort in lower back and back of leg; pain level about 1; no return of severe hamstring pain; straight leg test still neg.; 2 advil
2/14 - ran outside 6 miles; leg was ok, but my body felt like I was dragging an anchor; mild symptoms before running incl. nerve twitches in back of leg; no pain/weakness; straight leg test still negative; 2 advil
2/15 - numbness after getting up; then better during day; two advil
2/16 - another 6 miles slowly on the treadmill; no return of worst symptoms; flexibility is still slightly impaired on right side but improving; gonna skip advil and see if it lets me sleep better
2/17 no advil at night but morning took another 2; saw dr - typical advice
2/18 - ran the seneca creek training w/ minimal discomfort; aleve works way better than advil
2/20 - ran 10 miles; some discomfort; still using aleve
2/23 - lower back discomfort
2/26 - ran 6 miles at a fast pace w/ no leg problems
3/6 - ran the 50k w/ only some residual discomfort

not completely gone yet; but
- stretching
- Aleve
- not stopping running
