NEOC Spring Rock Festival and Intercollegiates: Blue 1

1.		trail up hill and in, crappy footing from moment I left trail.
2.	+00:30	got sucked into taking trail exiting control for better footing, which combined with map scale quickly put me above & beyond control, back around but stupid route
3.	+00:15	pretty straight but misread contours and got over too far L and had to com back
4.	+00:35	couldn't read contours in green (shouldn't have had to) but wound up in green woods anyway - things didn't feel like they were matching up well - hesitant about what to trust
5.	+00:30	across top in dark green, then off hill L to white woods - but rocky underfoot - contours not quite making sense - slow
6.	+00:40	left control on bearing for trail junction, but found myself on small trail above pond - backtrack.... main trail to just beyond bend, then straight in white woods, across stream and up prominent spur - vegetation mapping dubious, but found control ok.
7.	+00:10	got high avoiding deadfall, back down
8.		just below beaver dam on line, contours felt 'off', but stayed on bearing and hit things ok
9.	+00:10	around and in - a tad S of bag, wasn't expecting it to be downslope
