Went down low path whereas I could have taken a high one and not lost height.

Went around, rather than straight, to avoid a wasted climb. I think it was the right decision.

Hung back to lose the other. Fell clumsily. Felt very tired here and was slow going up the slope.

My biggest mistake of the race. Got confused about features on the map - found it difficult to read here. A couple of false turns, ended up much too high.

Took a longer route around to avoid a big drop into a valley. Probably should have gone straight after all.
