Race Evaluation

Northeast Sprint Championships: Sprint 1

2. +02:00Big boom here. Running the trail and looked at the hill off to my right before the first stone wall and convinced myslef it was the hill before the second wall, so jumped off and looked for a reentrant, flummoxed around for a bit.
3. Still adapting to map scale and going slowly
4.
5. OK, now it's looking better, on the straight line and across the spur.
6. Didn't make friends, as I came on a group of beginners at the control, holding the punch and talking. Said thanks and grabbed it. I think they were a bit put off.
7. Pretty much straight. Saw the boulders crossing the stream, stayed right of the nose of land.
8. Pulled up short because somehow I didn't see the stone wall on the map, but I was fine.
9. Hopped the wall to the trail, went straight from the trail bend, headed for the knoll with the spring behind it.
10. Up hill kind of slow.
11. Straight, then stopped for a second to look for the flag as I apprached the wall.
12. trail to wall, on right side of wall which looked a bit cleaner
13. +00:45A little right of line to hit clearing in green, then hit big marsh. Went a bit left, but still lots of water, so headed across. Only about knee deep, but tripped on deadfall in there and went in face first. Wow! Plenty cold.
14. Trail around R to closest point to wall, then straight in.
15. Picked up trail on left near wall, followed to just past knoll then headed west. Lyn Walker was near the control
