Race Evaluation

DVOA Long Champs: Blue

Wyatt

1. Nauseous/overfull on the warmup and until about 7 or 8. Felt okay after that. Not sure why. I had two bagels at ~10am. A Mt. Dew in the car, and some water. Then some gatorade and Gu just before the warmup. Somehow things weren't digesting well. Perhaps the previous nights outing, or ?
2.
3.
4. Hated the leaves in the face, so went way right to trails - followed creek in toward 4.
5.
6. Back to the same trail East of route until reentrant down-in.
7.
8. Easy aiming off to hit marsh edge, to bump, to dot-line marsh, then careful compass/pace.
9. Bailed 90 toward trail. Should've angled more, esp. as the forest wasn't bad, but I had a 'hate these woods' thing going on...
10. Straightish, then down field to road and far right all the way to trail and attacked from below. Still tricky in there - hard to read those features reliably...
11. Down to reentrant junc./flat, then up and over. Hes. on way down.
12. Out to road.
13. Vague compass along trails. Went more right than needed.
F. In. Had gas left despite having no Gu and just a little water enroute. Stomach had limited speed early on...
