Canadian Champs: Classic Day 1: Course 9

1. +00:20Looked for the control at the spur just east of the control. Realized what happened and ran to the next spur.
2. Attacked from a reentrant in the open area. This bright yellow open area was slower than I would have liked because of the high vegetation.
3. +00:20Went straight. Was a little slow around the control.
4. +03:00Went straight at this control, hoping I would come up with a plan along the way. Overshot it, circled around to the fence, and attacked from the boulder.
5. Hit the trail and went around to the left. Ran along the spur in the big clearing.
6. Ran through the clearing to the point closest to the control. Attacked from there.
7. Went up the steepest part of the spur. Ran through the flattish area on top.
8. Went straight. Attacked from the top of the hill.
9. Contoured around. Steep area behind the control to stop me. Hit right on it. Mysterious women in white following me.
10. Straight at it looking for the hill.
11. Straight looking for the spur.
12. Ran down to the road. Looked for where the road curved to the right. Went up the hill to the clearing. The clearing was much steeper than I thought it would be. Attacked from the upper end.
13. +00:30Went straight. Was a little confused at the trails, because there was one more than I expected (didn't see the other one on the map). This caused me to hesitate.
14. Straight. Wandered to the left and hit the fence, but corrected easily.
15. Ran for the tip of the clearing and kept going straight.
16. Hit the clearing at the road. Went along the faint trail to get around the undergrowth. Ran for the spur.
17. Straight looking for the bigger reentrant in front of the control. Could see the control up high.
18. Straight.
19. Couldn't decide to go left or right. Went right and regretted it as I had to do a major climb out of a deep reentrant. People who went left regretted their choice as well.
F. Drove hard to the finish. Paula reminded that she beat me yesterday.
