1. | +00:50 | I love running on tracked snow, out of the start, running too fast for 1:5000, blew by the attack and wound up at the knoll on corner - backtrack.
2. | Back to main trail, fast run watching for diverging footpaths now, caught a glimpse of reflector before getting to herd path.
3. | Fine... | ||||||

5. | Trail, then herd path in..
6. | went straight (so I thought) but must have drifted R as I hit the main path and saw no obvious herd path. Hesitated, deciding between breaking trail on my own or looking for a herd path, confirmed boulders near trail, then elected to go NW until I found the herd path in.

9. | +04:00 | Left the control, pretty sure on a herd track but apparently was heading east as I wound up at #12. Stupidly elected to just try to head N in unbroken snow rather than go back to main track, got pushed east of line, a bit of thrashing in green, then headed W rather than fight the laurel, around on trails. WAY too much time lost on this..
10. | Trail, herd path | ||||||
11. | same | ||||||
12. | Already been here, easy enough..
13. | +02:00 | Out to trails, up over hill east of pond, past pond and up the hill, but got confused by 3 vs 13 on map (my map reading headlamp had died) and thought I was on second trail segment rather than one just past pond, felt I had gone too far (expecting a herd path that didn't appear) so back tracked to pond, studied the map more carefully and realized the mistake, then back up the hill and in.
14. | +02:00 | Should have backtracked to trail, but a herd path was heading southish, so took it instead, yet it carried me to the R, past a short course control and dropped me near the oval knoll leaving 15. Hesitation to verify that was where I was, the corrected on trails.
15. | Rest of controls were clean on herd paths.

F. | +00:10 | Actually jumped off driveway onto herd path heading to back door until remembering that the finish is usually in the driveway. Quick map check. Yup, driveway. Dope... |
