Stupidly elected to just try to head N in unbroken snow rather than go back to main track, got pushed east of line, a bit of thrashing in green, then headed W rather than fight the laurel, around on trails. WAY too much time lost on this.. | |||||

| 13. | +02:00 | Out to trails, up over hill east of pond, past pond and up the hill, but got confused by 3 vs 13 on map (my map reading headlamp had died) and thought I was on second trail segment rather than one just past pond, felt I had gone too far (expecting a herd path that didn't appear) so back tracked to pond, studied the map more carefully and realized the mistake, then back up the hill and in. | |||||
| 14. | +02:00 | Should have backtracked to trail, but a herd path was heading southish, so took it instead, yet it carried me to the R, past a short course control and dropped me near the oval knoll leaving 15. Hesitation to verify that was where I was, the corrected on trails. | |||||
