Race Evaluation

Rocky Mountain 1000 Day: Day 3: Red

Nadim

1.
2. Bad route choice
Underrated difficulty
Ran too fast
Read map too late
Bad distance judgement
3. Using the Aspens for reference, I got sucked into the reentrant just prior to the control. Ken Walker showed-up about the time I figured it out.
4. I went wildly to the right almost passing #8. coming back I lost my bearings and was fortunate to have Ken Walker come along.
5. I ran across Pelican Bay left the road and missed the gap. Getting close, I missed just to the left and got confused before seeing the fence and figuring it out
6.
7. includes drink, Gu and manned control check.
8. I went to the left around the hill and ran down the road until I could go almost on the line. I missed to the right by miss-reading the fields. The big rock helped me correct quick. I should have been looking for it prior to attacking.
9. I took a slow route along the rocks of the ridge prior to the control. Going around would have been much faster.
