Race Evaluation

1000 Day: Day 5: Red

Nadim

1. +00:20Crossed left of the line chasing Will Enger and passing Erin Olafsen. I stayed dry with a big jump. I came around the ridge and aspens but dropped too low at the control. I realized it quick enough, climbing the correct reentrant there.
2. +00:50I was a bit careless and stopped at the first set of rocks only halfway there.
3.
4. +00:45Out to the road quick. I had a planned place to cut over but seeing it flooded I went on and had to cut back upstream where others were exiting #4. Will Enger left #3 just ahead of me staying on the right side and got there just behind me.
5. +01:15I hit the right reentrant just below the control but didn't see it. I went close to the marsh and could see the road crossing before turning around and getting there. Will Enger came in behind and found it.
6.
7. I crossed early and came up the left side. It was a mistake I think. As I neared, I didn't realize I was so close to it. Will Enger came running out of #7 clueing me in.
8. +00:20I stayed in the big reentrants and passed the confluence a litte before cutting back and going up the on on the right. I climbed higher away from the stream for better running but got too high. When close, I dropped down a bit and fond myself just behind Will Enger again.
9. Will Enger and I exchanged leads a bit and I got there just ahead.
10. I went straight while Will Enger went a little left first, then overcorrected--one of his few mistakes. I saw it but was incredulous that it was so in the open. Will followed in behind.
11. With Will right behind me, I crossed the fence and picked-up the pace getting there first. Others were converging. Will seemed to wait behind me at the fence rather than cross to my left or right. That was the last I saw of him till the end.
12. I just chased and passed a line of others across the prairie.
F. Tired. I figured to make a good effort any way to finish out the fun week in a good way.
