Race Evaluation

OOC March Highlands: Long Adv.

boyle

1. I sure screwed up leg one. I wasn't alone floundering but I was the worst. When I eventually found old road, I still had to rely on benevolent help from short course racer.
2. So much time on first leg, arms broke off reading glasses.
3. The first leg with no error.
4. I used trail run and then familiar spot to cross stream.
5.
6.
7. One of my better legs and I walked straight line off trail whole way. Already an hour in, I ate my clif bar, walked and did fine.
8. I used trail segments to work on running while exhausted.
9. Straight run through familiar terrain.
10. Definitely screwed this up, somehow drifted FAR right.
11. Very nice error free trail run, beat MTB across forest, passed 12 en route.
12. Then totally messed up return to 12, drifting far right in to First Concession pass. My two big errors were in very familiar terrain. That can't be a coincidence.
13. Time shows best leg even though at the time my confidence was still shaken from screw up on 12 and I thought this leg was poor.
14. A long trail run but I stopped in hesitation too many times along the way.
15.
16. My long run was fine but I screwed up (alongside the pres) being at open area (on trail) SSE of feature.
17. Another minute of error going too slow, slightly too far right and then missing control.
18. Very familiar terrain for rest of map but too far behind to benefit.
19. Nothing like vertical climb at this point in race.
20.
21.
22. The run to fence seemed longer than it should have been.
23. The wet and the fence prevented me from getting to Second Line but I did go out trail to road and back in next trail.
F. I almost needed 3h but at least exhausted last seven legs were error free.
