1. | Two of us came to the shore way N of beaver dam and had a long fight through green.
2. | This was my first true orienteering since last October. I wondered if I could still over run a leg. I can. I went about 100m past final trail bend and headed back.
3. | This was a straightforward overland leg using beaver dam then trail, ended up right of control.
4. | Another straightforward overland crossing three trails. This was my first time in daylight having to use reading glasses with every check of map.
5. | I tried to use trail as far as possible, eating and drinking along the way. Looking at the map the day after, I see that I turned off at a fence line I had not noticed.
6. | It was a very long trail run, using yet another beaver dam but when I got to control sector, I had deja vu screw up. MTB ramps have been set up on hill in past couple of years which are not yet on map. In the past, I resolved confusion by going to Huntmar Road for check. The road was off edge of this map. I never did find.
7. | I was just going to run home but decided to visit controls on route back. Control 7 was not.
8. | I floundered until ruins, then trail run, followed runner off last cliff but somehow ran right past flag and floundered some more.
9. | Trail run across creek and then head for sunny ground.
10. | S to trail, all the way on trail.
11. | This one was a big blow up until I saw Richard who saved me. He had just visited control I missed. There is some nice looking stuff in the small sector surrounded by trail.
12. | S to trails. I should have used fence line the whole way but didn't think of that until review.
13. | I ran to pavement until trail.
F. | Then back to pavement again. |
