Race Evaluation

DVOA Mt. Penn Antietam: Blue

Wyatt

1. +01:00Traversed and ended up way low. Should have done better contour/pace count.
2.
3. +00:30Drifted R and hesitant through low stuff. Should have aimed & paced to supplement general direction plus map.
4. +00:45Too straight - should have gone through open to road for better attack. Missed somewhat on attack to unmapped junk.
5. Bail to trail, to junc. straight to hunter's stand under powerline, then in.
6. +01:00Hit trail and followed way too far to just about 1 contour above road. Should have gone straighter, but not confident. Compass & pace would have increased confidence on straight route. Vegetation isn't that bad here.
7. +02:00Should have taken road around, I was hestitant, and then took dirt/rock road anyway. Avoided private property mid-route, although took extra climb to do so.
8. +01:30Straight to road, then down road for shorter attack but it was nasty. Should have gone straight in along old road bed.
9. +00:30Drifted L at end and hit charcoal platform. Need to follow compass even on traverse
10. +03:00Dumb route. Straight almost to 16, then cut way left to trail. Should have taken trail immediately. Plus I had a pretty poor attack - missed L and almost went downhill. Then hit stream junction and didn't look for spring...
11. +00:30Back to wall then missed tree.
12. +02:30Road then attack totally missed R. Recovered at powerline. Should have looked for dark green better.
13. +00:45Midroute drift S off compass. Recovered okay. Saw Boris going 16-17 and was inspired to keep running hard.
14. Around right on trails. It looks like this was much faster than the route most took.
15. Yuck slow, and confusing at end, but didn't hesitate much...
16. Followed wall/road.
17. Rough compass/traverse. Nailed bag by luck (thought I was aimed low to trail...)
F. Did I take this split right? Or were others not pushing in the chute?
