Race Evaluation

DVOA: White Clay Creek: Red

vmeyer

1. Angle to trail. Decide to cut straight across DARK green stuff to control. Turned out to be pretty easy. Caught a couple of people that left in front of me.
2. Through forest to road but no good way down. Go to left some until I get through without killing myself. Slow leg but I don't remember much about it...
3. Go to the trail trough the green. Read the signs and think it is saying Park boundary. Turns out it was the PA line...take to hunter's T and then head straight to control.
4. Go straight through green - again not too bad. Cross stream but am about 150 meters too low. Hike up to control.
5. Run across field (well, walk some too) and come out at path but am confused for a few seconds. Run down path and follow Brian S into control.
6. Down path to road and still undecided about next move. Decide to go S on trail but then Randy H comes and I decide his way is better - E on trail parallel to road. I go all the way to interxection and then straight to control - west of it about 50 meters.
7. S to trail to "road" parallel to creek. Ran all the way to cliff and take the straight up route. What a dumb move.
8. Next dumb move here. Try to get to trail instead of going back to "road" and get tangled up and slowed. End up coming out at trail/road intersection. To trail by control. A bit confusing in here - but the drinking water was calling my name.
9. Go straight to control and only about 20 meters from reentrant.
10. Up to trail and then cut over to control area. Control well hidden but I don't wast much time finding it.
11. Pretty much straight across field, road, trails and about 20m right of control.
12. Take trail to field to control. Take a deep breath.
F. Haul butt up field into the wind and finish.
