US Team Trials: Day 2: Red/Brown

1. +02:00Found the other bag first and my brain shut off.
2.
3. +00:40overshot a little. I didn't see the trail---I felt like I overshot and turned uphill and back.
4.
5. so green. No trouble, just slow

8. Wow. A 540m long leg that was awesome. I saw the left route, and thought it might be too subtle for me. Looking at it here at my desk, I half wish I'd gone left.
9. +00:15Seemed like the bag was too far left. On Routegadget, it seems like most people missed it to the right.
10. +00:30I wish I'd have gone back to look at this one, although I know PG said it was in the right spot. I guess the map was not talking to me. I got lucky on this one and saw Val Duca checking out the wrong control and then the right one. It seemed like the control was 35m too far SE, just outside the circle, but I'm betting I'm wrong.

12. Missed left 20m (way too far). Used rock as attackpoint. No time lost.
13. +00:15Ran too much straight south out of 12. I think the form line NNE of 13 made it very difficult to read the map. Didn't really need to I guess, I knew I was left.
14. I flash-read the map inverted---It looked like a spur, but it was a reentrant. As I ran toward it my error was obvious. No time lost.
