I just love being in a crowd of top runners, all of whom are standing around baffled.

with Steve Worthington and Clint, follwed the stone wall up, but we were getting tired and walked most of it
11. Wheee! Most fun of the day. Great running surface, I took a fall, so did Clint, but with all the soft leaves it didn't hurt. Ate a Gu on the trail run.

Abi and I were a tad too far right, and overshot to the next reentrant -- Tim Parson pointed out our error, and several people got past us.

Cut off of trail before the last two contours, but it turned out to be pretty thick, and I drifted left -- Peter went to the top, nailed it, and got a few steps ahead.
17. Might as well just follow Peter.
18. Peter and I went right, out to the trail, and I thin we gained quite a bit on some people in the process.
19.
20. With Joe Brautigam and Tim, and Peter a few steps back, and I believe this is where we caught back up to Clint, at the control.
21. trail around to the right, Joe gets out of sight
22. catch up to Ross Smith
23. contoured around and came up by little building

headed more or less due east, but was really beat and walking. Last I saw of Ross, as he went farther left. Decided to eat another Gu. When I got withing sight of the road, I could see Peter already up there, running. Tim and I were together, and I caught occasional glimpses of Peter way up ahead. Tim got ahead on the trail, but hesitated at a junction near the end and I got a few steps up on him.
25. pretty much straight, moaning, unable to think, feeling really beat, but nailed it.
26. same as above, spotted Peter near control.
27. to road junction and in on trail, Tim cut the corner but got slowed by the vegetation. Peter looked too hard to catch, especially when I started to cramp badly a few steps before the control.
F. Just trying to stay ahead of Tim, and desperately running for the picnic table at the finish so I could stretch out the cramps. Good thing the course wasn't 200 m longer!
