Bad distance judgement | My registration (including SportIdent card) was misplaced by organizers & I was forced to make three trips to the start, an additional 6k run immediately preceding my start. That stress is part of my excuse for the blow-up after control #9. My perception of pace was wrong. I never did find the hydro-electric wire I planned for route. When my peers who started behind me caught me, it was time to panic. I brought out compass, headed north to sound of vehicles but I was at the lake & road 700 metres too distant. Nearly ten minutes after control #9, I came upon #16. | |||||
