Terrain running race 1:47:57 [3] 8.0 mi (13:30 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 X-Talon (3)

FRA Relay leg 3 with Mark Law for Holmfirth V50 team.
My first ever FRA. It was a bit of a shambles. The winner was determined by interpretation of what walls and fences you were allowed to cross.
I was blissfully unaware and treated it as I would an orienteering race unless there was anything on the map to say otherwise. This gave us quite a big advantage and we got some great routes as a result. Despite waiting quite a bit for Mark we pulled up many places including passing our V40 team :-)
47th (of 178) on leg. OJ/Duncan Coombs quickest in 80 mins.
Only a few seconds slower than our open team and 45 mins quicker than the V40's!
Team finished 91st after a slow start (173rd after leg 1). At a guess we must have passed 40 or 50 teams.
Less than 20 mins behind first V50 team:

Warm down with Mark afterwards.

Mountain Bike 1:00:00 [1] 10.0 mi (6:00 / mi)

Control hanging for BSSOC. On the go for over 4 hours.
3 PM

Mountain Bike 30:00 [1] 5.0 mi (6:00 / mi)

Control collecting. Not the lot thanks to the Dakins.
That seems to have gone well. The rarest of things: a score event where nobody got all the controls! In fact one control which no one seems to have visited at all.
