Training at brantbrink. Mass start, so i ran the long course to make sure i pushed extra hard (decided i was okay for a session after all.) Bit of a nuts start with 1k on tracks before getting in any forest. Quite smooth apart from a small miss on 3, where we were all faffing about a bit cos there was no kite. Ran about 2/3, dont really want to dig deep for long until the weekend, but pleased that this much went okay.

Went to brink for o intervals round tio training course. Quite quickly found that my mind was telling me noooo... and my body was telling me, also no. Even after trying to talk myself round in each break. I know im better than this poor orienteering, but you cant force it. So i cut the final loop and declared smash yourself week a success. Taper time.

Decided to make it a longer run today. With my bag from ropsten to the orienteering. Not wanting to slack too much here so a bit razzy at least til i was needing to find some forest for a pitstop, which proved problematic on the main road on Lidingö...

"long" race round elfsvik. Lots of paths so it would have been great to be able to push harder but i could just feel myself getting slowly tired (i think i told myself i was tired more than anything!)... The map scale took a bit of getting used to too, and my direction was pretty terrible - slow needle or slow brain?! But glad i got this effort done, i think theres some potential starting to be there for when im a bit rested up.

Stuck inside working this morning. But actually my recovery was so bad last night (eating enough after training) that being in for a bit was a good idea. Especially as i thought i had a middle distance tomorrow but turns out its a long distance, oops. Would have run the short course yesterday... Feel fine again this evening, so one more hard day coming up!

Went to collect the map stash and took them back to näset.

club training, 4x longer o-intervals in Mörtsjön. i had to organise the start (mass start) and went to stash the spare maps after the start, so trying hard to catch on the first one. thought too much about my running speed being poor on a long leg round the path, and the distraction resulted in a quite massive error. luckily the boys were taking a long break after the first interval so i caught them then and could salvage some fun for the rest (apart from when Filip M and i got v lost in the steep bit, found the control eventually but little idea what i was doing haha)

so not all i4 (also quite tired on the last one...) but generally a pretty good session. im definitely not one of the quickest in the group so it's hard work for me :-D this week of trying to force myself into some decent form going okay so far.
