Run around Blackburn lake and creeklands on a fairly humid morning. Slow start as l haven't done much exercise lately. Blister is a fair bit better.

Run (Street O) 42:00 [3] 5.1 km (8:14 / km)

Belmore Parklands. It had been a pretty warm day and l'd walked a lot in the heat of the day, being carless for a while. Walked up the steep hills (knee not happy today, but a least blisters are better), which l later realised l could have avoided. Being carless means learning to plan ahead, rather than having the convenience of getting things instantly e.g. running out of a printer cartridge and paper became a major hassle today.

MTBOoooh at Muckleford. Because of my blister (only one now), l can't run so opted for the longer course 3. It was pretty tough, with a fair bit of rocky single track and l took it easy, making sure l didn't fall off the orange monster, of which l am now a little more fond. There were a lot of unmarked tracks, many of which were water courses cleaned out after the recent rain and l went down a couple by mistake. The highlight was arriving at lots of controls at the same time as a couple of young fit blokes and l had them worried, but it turned out they were doing course 2 and had been to other controls in between. I helped pack up and had a yummy savoury scone and a lot of water at Newstead afterwards. It was a long but great day.
