Easy ski at LH with Abbi and Laura. Really nice skiing, despite only a bit of fresh grooming. Was beautiful skiing through the powder up at the north end of the trail system.

LH Loppet. Did the Recreational 30 km. Was a really nice ski, despite some somewhat tricky waxing conditions. Skied about half-way with Martin Schrama, was nice to have the company. Only partly accomplished my goal of "taking it easy". Max hr was a bit higher than I had intended. But, overall, felt really good and had a nice ski. Once out there with other skiers in a race, it's hard not to "push it" a bit. South loop and up to Cec's had a bit of fresh powder (2-3 cm), so I was mostly breaking trail through that. Skis were close to icing up a few times, but I was able to kick it off and keep things sliding. VR60, covered with VR55. Many of the 34 km skiers (2 loops of 17 km) went with klister covered with hardwax, with pretty variable results (lots of iced up skis on the first loop).

Skiing at LH. Some ski testing, then a decent ski around the 10 km loppet course plus an extra bit up Plantation.

Snowshoeing. Hiked up to Gullan's Connector, then back and forth packing out the trail in prep for BC Champs later in the winter.

Ski practice. Got in a decent ski (50 min, 12 km) before practice. Then, easy skiing, some drills (legs only and dp), sprints in the stadium area, more easy skiing.

Treadmill running at lunch in Vernon. 10 min easy warm-up, then a few pick-ups ... 5 min at 7.5 mph (120 bpm); 3 min at 8 mph (130 bpm); 3 min at 8.5 mph (140 bpm), with 2 min easy between. Somewhat sad that 8.5 mph seemed pretty hard ... Need to work on the leg speed.

Ski practice at LH. Some easy skiing around the last part of the loppet route. Then, 4 intervals around the Beaver Lane/Marmot Lane loop, including Ermine Wiggle. Then, easy around Reino's/Gullan's as a cool-down. Nice skiing, a bit cold.
