My legs have come back to me and it feels like my body has finally clicked and started playing along - first really positive session of the year. Cold but dry and running with JC alternating leading reps definitely helped.

I'm not going to say it was fun but it was the closest to fun I've had at Meadowbank since World Schools disco 2008.

Caught the train to North Berwick then ran back along the coast through Gullane, Aberlady etc as far as Longniddry. It was absolutely awesome, such a nice route with beaches, cliffs and sand dunes which reminded me of the Gower. Hopped up Berwick Law at the start for a look at the view - need to come back here again!

Next time though I'd like to do it the other way around as I failed to learn my lessons from cycling and suffered for 16 miles into a belter of a headwind. Got pretty bonky in the last 30mins.
