(rest day)
Proper rest day, not the active recovery day I was gonna do.
It's been such a long hard week I figured I can't keep thrashing myself. Plus good to have some relaxation after work hours have returned to extreme. Wow I actually got a whopping 7 hours sleep for the first time in ages.
Little Owen, well he's almost as tall as me now, managed to do his usual trick of doing increadibly well at the school x-country, getting 2nd from 300 kids.
low impact x trainer thing 20:00 [3]
Cycling (spin bike) 30:00 [3]
Tough session of a variety of intervals/bikefartleking incl standing 1min efforts. Took a while to cope and settle in compared to last time as body was saying NO.
Gym 15:00 [3]
Core and stretching
Run (treadmill) 20:00 [3] 4.3 km (4:39 / km)
Progressive intervals, increasing pace peaks up to 19kph holding them for a couple of mins (3.09pace)... for now
Note
(rest day)
would love to be out there doing some actual running again but have been biding my time with the various ankle, achilles and hammy issues. It does seem like I'm getting on top of them now but just giving things a bit more time. In the meantime today was just another impossible day for training of any sort.
low impact x trainer thing 20:00 [4]
Cycling (Spin Bike) 40:00 [4]
various tempos and intervals for a really hard workout, but feeling reasonably good and strong
Run (treadmill intervals) 20:00 [4] 4.2 km (4:46 / km)
warm up gradually into interval mode. Good speed but trying not to overdo things though as fairly dangerous given huge lack of running atm.
SO hard compared with the 'glory days' lol.
Note
(rest day)
active rest day, had to mow the lawn on this amazingly glorious summery day in may!
