Back down the durville in near flood so good fun and fast. Should have walked further up in the morning but the rain made getting ready in the hut too appealing.

A couple of portages around some logs in the river and stopped to scout one rapid. I think the high water level made this paddle a lot more exciting than it would normally be.

Tramping into Morgan hut up the d'urville with Pat and Matt. Quite a bit of windfall and lots of water around so reasonably slow going. Keen-ness for going up to George Lyon hut disappeared with the daylight.
