MetrO event at Sorrento. A bit tired because we only got back home at 3 am today from our holiday. It was hot as well. I planned to take it a little easier than normal and figured that even a pace of around 5:15/km should give me 98 points and keep me in the hunt for the series. However, Simon destroyed that plan. He started behind me, but got in front by doing the third and fourth control in opposite order to me (I also lost some time stopping short on the fourth). I couldn't just let him run away, of course. Had to run the second km in 4:00 just to stay in touch. Had my route worked out at this stage, and it turned out Simon picked almost exactly the same route from here. Timed my deficit to Simon at 22 seconds after 2 km, and tried to slowly reel him back in. Overtook after about 3.5 km and slowly got away over the rest of the course, but it was hard work.

"Run" from Phuket town up to the viewpoint on Rang Hill. Didn't want to take any risk with all the stray dogs so reduced to a walking pace whenever I sighted one. Nice view of the sunrise from the top, and took some time to look at the many monkeys too.
