Body Pump. I increased the weight on a couple of tracks this evening and was managing well. I had 'The Jerk' right in front of me - the man has no rhythm - but I managed to ignore him and keep my pace right.

Run to work. Forget the talk of Spring, it is almost Summer - 9 degrees at 7am meant just a t-shirt for running.

Sanders was organising the Wednesday evening lamp run from her place in Turner, so I ran from work to her place. It drissled rain the whole way, but I was very warm by the time I reached Sander's place. I estimated it would take 45mins and I was there with 1 second to spare. Unfortunately I was held up at work for about 5 minutes longer than I planned so I was late. Sorry about that.
We started the group run almost straight away - a small but fun group of Sanders, Devil, Lucy, and making her Wed evening debut was MaryMac. We went from Turner through ANU, along Sullivans Ck, then along the lake shore around the museum, and finally back through Acton and along Clunies Ross St.
The run was followed by delicious soup and home made bread, and a ginger cake (I had 2 pieces). Thank you Sanders. While we ate Devil was impressing us with his tales of flying business class.

RPM class. I was feeling very sore last night after falling at orienteering yesterday, but felt better as the day went on. Plus a couple of Voltarin helped. I had to keep pace with MaryMac who was working hard tonight - not that it is a competition.

ACT League event #10 at Ratall Creek. I did the Red1 course: a) because I enjoy the area, and b) because it wasn't too long. Started in front of Devil so I just expected to see him almost from the 1st control, but I had no idea how much after me he started. He finally caught up with me on the way to 13. I was with him through to 15, but then he went left, I went right, and he was seen no more.
I don't think I made any real mistakes on the whole course, and felt as if I was running well, but the constant dodging of the fallen timber caught up with me and I started to flag a bit on the way to 18 and through to 19. I then seemed to get a second wind after 20, but the leg was a lovely flat run down a very broad gully with not much underfoot.
The only real problem was jumping back onto the dirt road about 150m from the finish. I caught my foot on a piece of wood and came crashing down onto the road and smashed my compass and took some skin off my left elbow in the exact same spot that was nearly healed up from when I fell at QB3 (my poor old skin seems to take a long time to heal these days - maybe it is one of those signs of ageing they mention in ads for Swiss made skin moisturising products).
I think I need to practice running a bit harder in these events rather than taking it steady.

Good warm up through the bush before hand, and then warm down with Devil along the track past the start.
MaryMac and I had a nice 'all day breakfast' for lunch at Bardys in Bungendore - 'all day breakfast' has to be one of the best inventions in the history of civilisation.
