Bit of spontaneous O in Thrunton wood. Dad and Will were going mountain biking there and I clocked that’s where 2014 boc long was. Managed to print out a very questionable map at the local library, could barely read the detail but was better than nothing. Considering the poor map, dodgy vegetation and lack of controls, I navigated well and kept up the pace, so pretty happy with that. Think the unreadable map actually helped me a few times, forced me to really simplify and use my compass which I new was right.

Jog along the beaches and coast paths north of Alnmouth, being blown all the way, felt like no effort. Then as soon as I turned around it was like running into a wall, had to fight all the way home whilst being sand blasted...
