Monday Feb 24 #

Note
(rest day)

No time today. Sleepover duties. Getting cold again.

Sunday Feb 23 #

Alpine Skiing 2:00:00 [3]

Out with the Bairns. Snow was surprisingly very good everywhere. Don't think I've been on the mountain in two weeks and the legs felt it.

Note
(sick)

Work up with a cold this morning. Which disappeared immediately. Weird cos I slept terrible due to it. I think it might have been due to the dust kicked up in the canyon yesterday. I did stay up too late listening to the Fury v Wilder fight on the radio. That probably didn't help.
5 PM

Running 1:05:20 [3] 12.9 km (5:04 / km) +89m 4:54 / km
ahr:153 max:167

The plan was to do a Half at Threshold. From the start I didn't feel it. The snow came in from the beginning making it treacherous. Happy to bail on this early. Next couple of days look like Rest, with a banquet and Parent/Teacher conference coming up.

Note
(rest day)

Grand Junction for Eadie's meet. Then scooted off to Dominguez Canyon (BLM). Fantastic place. Need to go run a weekend here OMM style. Seems like there's plenty of water. Camping is anywhere you like. As soon as ski season is done it's on.

Friday Feb 21 #

4 PM

Running 31:11 [3] 6.45 km (4:50 / km) +44m 4:41 / km
ahr:143 max:201

Max 201???? I hope not. Anyway....10 mins @ Threshold on hike and bike. 7 min/mile pace. Felt extremely heavy and overweight. Probably a combo of being a Fat Knack and trudging through snow fields to dip manhole covers. It's funny how terrible situations make you laugh harder/more. Today was very funny considering I was inhaling the excrement of the whole of Greater Telluride for 8 whole hours. Plus we found out the Brewery is obviously dumping it's waste into the sewer line too. The smell of hops and excrement could be a fantastic new fragrance by Chanel. "Shitfaced" or "Wrecked" could be its catchy title.
I digress, tomorrow is an early start for Eadie's first ever Gym meet in GJ so it's probably also a rest day.

Thursday Feb 20 #

5 PM

Nordic (skate) 32:18 [3] 6.78 km (4:46 / km) +12m 4:43 / km
ahr:120 max:155

Switched this for a recovery run. Worked good. Feel better after this. Not too cold at the moment and snow allowed me a decent glide.
Today I was introduced to the rather murkier side of surveying....."Shit dipping". This involves lifting manhole covers and dipping a pole into the abyss. I've already told the boss we aren't starting work until after 9am tomorrow.....I want to avoid "rush hour", as I'm the manual/skilled labour in this process.

Wednesday Feb 19 #

4 PM

Running 53:15 [3] 10.78 km (4:56 / km) +108m 4:42 / km
ahr:167 max:183

Loooonnng day at Pandora. Managed to muster a ruin at the end. 4x8mins (2mins rest). Felt ok-ish. All were bang on 7:19 pace on undulating hike and bike trail.
Was sore this morning. No idea how I'm going to feel in the morning, but I bet it won't be ninja supple.
