urban hike around queen anne - pit stops to get E coffee and to finally use my chocopolis gift card, then around the back to trolley hill park and the northeast greenbelt. there were signs claiming to have trails through the greenbelt, but they didn't seem to actually exist. hmmph. we also didn't try to look that hard.

saw lots of parts of queen anne i don't think we've ever specifically been to before and got some good walking/talking in. :D

cedar mountain navigation race - 4 hours, open mixed (teamed up with E)

first time doing this event! still feeling a bit tentative about running hard on my ankle, so we agreed to focus on other aspects of our orienteering teamwork. goals included not getting into a nerves-fueled squabble leading up to and during map handout, being ready for the race by map handout and regularly eating and drinking throughout the race (not super necessary for a 4-hour event, but need to practice for the 24-hour one!).

thought it all went pretty well and we turned in a solid performance despite not moving super quickly! navigation felt pretty great and we made time to go to the top of cedar mountain and check out the views since we weren't in a super rush to visit as many checkpoints as possible. also did a bit of jogging on the ankle and it felt pretty okay. :)
