Not the best day for riding, 50sF and overcast, my knee told me not to run, so I got through the ride. Parked at the Funplex, rode to Kodak, hit the 'burbs on the way back. The first raindrops landed just as I was starting to drive home, so timed the ride perfectly. They are extending the Sheeps Draw trail, so that will be something to look forward to later this summer hopefully.

Due to a promise I made to do something for someone, I was unable to swing the orienteering race at Manitou today. So I went back to the Round Mt. trail for a hike up, jog down. Turned around at about an hour. For the last 20 min. of the ascent it was graupeling pea sized graupel. Nice hike with great views and good elevation gain - close to 1700', maxing out at just shy of 7500'. To make it to the top of Sheep Mt. it would be an all day affair for sure as I was only half way.

Note

The weather was crap after being hot, a t-storm rolled in and temps dropped to the 40s with rain, some hail, after the thunder. Was not excited about riding in such weather so bagged on the workout. Thankfully, it was the first day off of the week.

Very surprising I've never hiked here before. This hike was part of fieldwork, hiked the whole "nature trail" to an overlook with a stone lean-to, then just a bit down the round mt. trail.

Running club. This workout was a significant step in the right direction. Knee was fine, Achilles was fine, calf was fine. So ran as hard as my fitness would allow, but not feel too stressed. Workout was 400, 800, 1200, 1200, 800, 400. Paces were 6:25, 14, 25, 22, 11, 5:56.
