slow run to Main Street and back with the MSU Trail Junkies. I think I'm gonna try ro get back into this club because they actually do cool stuff on other days of the week. So if I can make friends with the older kids, that means getting rides to weekend long runs and other workouts.

Foothills 14K trail race! Except they had to remove a portion of the beginning so it was shorter. But still SO MUCH FUN. It was snowy, which means cold and slippery. Trail was single track so hard to pass. The uphills were a real grind (especially with regular ol running shoes), and I, like many others, definitely did some walking up them. The first major downhill was about a mile of straight SENDING down steep switchbacks and was TREACHEROUS. Lost a lot of people on that (skiing intuition y'all), but on the final downhill less than a minute before the end, I totally ate it sliding face first on the trail. Got some great bruises from that. Anyway, made a lot of friends, learned a lot about proper footwear, had a ton of fun, and got 4th for women! Wooo trail races!!

It. Was. Dumping.
My friends and old teammates Brigitte and Haley are visiting for the weekend, so we went for a run together and it was gnarly.

running warm up/down 13:44 [2] 2.4 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2000 6

running intervals 38:30 [4] 7.34 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2000 6

4x5 min on with 90s rest, finishing with 8x 30-30s. felt good
Paces:
5 mins: 4:28, 4:21, 4:10, 4:16
30-30s: 4:00, 4:07, 4:11, 3:59, 3:40, 3:40, 4:26, 3:55
Okay, so now I have to start making goals for myself for future workouts. For longer intervals it'll be staying around 4:15, and 30-30s under 3:50.
