running 1:00:47 [3] 11.31 km (5:22 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2000 6

Sunday Run 2nd bench with Alex. Felt good until the last mile or so my breath got really short? I had asthma as a kid and I've pretty much grown out of it, but I occasionally would get exercise-induced asthma attacks where my trachea would close up and I couldn't breathe. Hasn't happened in at least 5 years, but that's what it felt like today. Weird. GTs felt okay but Asics definitely take me a bit to break in, especially after coming off of Sauconys

orienteering warm up/down (Compass-O) 24:28 [2] 2.36 km (10:22 / km)
13c

Trainings designed by Erin with Caroline at Magnuson! First couple were a struggle because the map is sort of old and vegetation was hard to read. Slowly got better and better
Map with route

orienteering 17:02 [3] 2.1 km (8:07 / km)
19c shoes: inov8 x talon 212

skills/flow focused course designed by Erin. Again, slowly got into it as I got a feel for the park and the terrain. Some features plain did not exist which was somewhat frustrating.
Map with route

orienteering intervals 36:20 [3] 5.7 km (6:22 / km)
34c shoes: inov8 x talon 212

6 sets of intervals designed by Erin. These went fairly well. By the end of this I felt a lot better about my orienteering. I'm not as excited about JWOC as I was last year, but I'm hoping I'll feel the hype and the competitiveness when I actually arrive in Europe.

Control Challenge: 204

running warm up/down 3:17 [1] 0.5 km (6:34 / km)
shoes: inov8 x talon 212

rock climbing 1:20:00 [2]

so. much. climbing.

8 AM

hiking 41:00 [1] 2.5 km (16:24 / km)
shoes: Asics excite4 2

Exploring near Enumclaw with Cassidy, we took a trail ~1.3km to a nice spot on the Green River. Swam despite being 60 degrees and raining and skipped/threw a lot of rocks
3 PM

running 43:38 [2] 8.21 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 8

Easy 5 at Ron Regis with Bailee. Haven't ran this slow in a while it was great

Wednesday Jun 20 #

8 AM

running 16:30 [1] 2.4 km (6:52 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 8

Decided to give Greg's BBA a shot, went for 15 min and subbed the exercises for a leg drain and some hip/back/leg stretching. Much needed after a week of being sore

conditioning (stretching) 19:00 [0]

11 AM

rock climbing 1:40:00 [2]

SBP with Alex, Gabe, and Gabe's gf. Still couldn't do the red
1 PM

running 48:50 [3] 10.44 km (4:41 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 8

Lake Boren with Sam and Alex. (Sam is a year older than me and a D1 runner for Montana State, so she is fast fyi) Anyway Sam said she was doing 8 at 7:30, but at one point Alex asked how fast we were going and Sam said 6:55 so yikes. Therefore I'm counting the first 5 miles of this as a tempo

Tuesday Jun 19 #

Note

Woke up from Grad Night at 3:30pm today, slacked for 2 hours and decided not to run. That choice was just pure laziness

conditioning (plyometrics) 16:17 [4] 0.82 km (19:51 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 10

Did most of the exercises from the Stack workout, with 2 sets instead of 3, and jogging a small lap around my yard in between sets

conditioning (pedestal core) 4:57 [1]

up to 7/leg

Monday Jun 18 #

Note

Graduation day!!!
8 AM

running 40:14 [3] 7.78 km (5:10 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 8

running tempo 20:06 [4] 5.05 km (3:59 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 8

Last run with my co captains before graduating!! Lake Wilderness with Gabe and Sophia, did 4 5-minute tempos in the middle with ~3min rest between. Felt okay, 2nd tempo stomach was acting up, cut it 15s short, so added 20s to my last tempo
1 PM

rock climbing 1:30:00 [2]

SBP with Tyra, Alex, and Sam. There was a tricky red that involved some serious arm strength as well as being taller than 5'2.
