Was hoping to do a bit better than the last middle, at least nav wise...
Started out bad to 1, but quickly got into it, not terrible on the long leg (although slightly lucky) then just switched off for 7 and lost ~5 mins wandering about. Threw me off for the rest of the course and the heat hit me a bit.
Still need to work on keeping on the compass, I'd save a lot of time just slowing down to let the needle settle now and then, rather than drifting off - in slightly vague terrain like this, it helps to keep in touch with the map a little more.
3 days off now, taking it easy and travelling to Oringen - knee is just about holding up, sore but not too painful...

Pushed through largely ignoring knee - it didn't worsen, but didn't go away either - we'll have to see what happens with that.
Nav much better, but certainly not perfect - sometimes losing the plot a bit in the last 10% of a leg - I think I wasn't really planning this last bit enough and just hoping.
Very tough physically given I haven't run this distance for months (literally) and in the 30 degree heat, but it was nice not to come last!
