In a lot of pain with swelling reaching peak - not fun looking like a chipmunk. Didn't manage to leave the house, mostly being a sloth reading books. Drugs making me super sleepy napping for 4hrs then sleeping for 11hrs.

I've been scouting out the mountains for a while now eager to get back. Today was perfect winter running weather - sunny with a small breeze. The firetrails in this area are wide and rocky but can be dangerously slippery if not careful. My new Altra's handled them perfectly, though i only pushed it on the climbs not the dodgy descents. Also it's very remote and isolating in these parts with the trails feeling like they haven't been touched in decades.
This is up there with my top 3 favourite runs this year (the others being Grand Canyon in Blackheath and Cowan to Brooklyn GNW). Decided to climb to Peak Trail from the southern side near Crossmaglen. Straight into a 3km 450m climb then onto the brutal steep bit 30% for 1km to the summit of Tuckers Nob. Had a crack at the KOM (success) and took a break at the top.
The view is just epic overlooking Glennifer, the Promised Land and Bellingen in the distance. Couldn't resist taking a sneaky selfie :P
Headed back down the sketchy 600m 3km descent towards Magic Pools and checked out the falls at the bottom. Truly spectatular!
Pushed it again (for the KOM) back to Peak Trail and descended another 500m back to the car. What an epic run!!
