Running with Elias. Felt great, built into the pace well and was going good until Elias's stomach decided to rebel (dodgy Wolfson Hall cooking ay). We were about 5km away from home too which meant a long walk back with a few breaks but not too worried as last night was a big night.

Note

After a year where so much has gone so wrong and a few months of questioning my motivation to continue to orienteer, I woke up today with something I haven’t had in a while - a burning desire to race again. While I have fallen flat of my potential this year in almost every race I have run, I have learnt so much about why and what has left me so far behind against people I can orienteer and (track) run just as well and fast as.

My plan is to spend the next year building the strength I am missing. I am going to slightly step back on the rigid athletics training and focus more on building real grit - this means much more races and more crazy over the top missions. I want to stop approaching training in such a calculated way and pour my passion into it. For the first time in over a year, I feel like I have a real focus and determination to make my goals happen. So starting from tomorrow, I’m back to working harder then ever (without breaking myself by rushing into things of course)
