Snowy run from Boat of Garten. Bailed office early as didn't fancy a drive home in the heavier snow forecast. Wanted to run somewhere different. Very lovely, albeit slow. Made up route but definitely recognised bits around the hill from an O course a few years ago there left me totally bamboozled!!

So so creaky today, feel like a very old woman!! I haven't even run anything long or testing!!

Green at Balmedie.
Actually made a decent enough job of the first 8 controls. Bit hesitant as was struggling to read the contours, but enough big features to work it out. 8-9 I was too far left and therefore looking in wrong area, went further left and dibbed 10 thinking it was 9 (didnt check control no.!! ). Set off for 10 and realised, so back tracked but have wasted a good 8 minutes + ... Heading from 10-11 get caught in epic sand storm and can see nothing. Make it back across to the high dune of 8 and start to pick way along but by now thoroughly distracted and pissed off by sand in eyes and wondering how the hell I'd locate a shallow depression!! So I effectively talked myself into muppetry! A good 15 minutes wasted here and all confidence blown so dithered across to 12 and eventually finished about 25 minutes later than planned!! Pfffft!!

Headtorch bimble once I finally got my run window. Sleet and wind but actually clearing off to be a beautiful clear night.
