Nice single trail around Witches Falls. Dense rainforest made it pretty dark.

Started at Cedar Creek Falls but ended up in a canyon which there wasn't any 'safe' way out. Even had signs there suggesting multiple people had died in there. So drove up the hill to a different section and ran a trail around there instead. That bit, although steep, wasn't so great.

Wow probably one of the toughest and most exhilarating 9km I'll ever do. Very much like Mt.Warning (even the peaks look the same) but with undefined tracks. Started as a tempo for first 3.5km through varying vegetation and kept losing the indistinct track but reading the bushwalkers notes on the web prior, it said as long as you keep the state line boundary fence in view and keep heading in that direction you should be ok. Got to the climb of the eastern peak and made a few wrong turns before scrambling up rockfaces to get to the peak. I thought this was pretty tough but then came the real test. The western peak tracks were even more vague and at times there was a sheer 100m drop only 1m away which really got my heart pumping. One slip and you're gone. Again made a few wrong turns but eventually figured the climb to the top. Then turned around back to the start. Big mistake carrying the phone in the hand as needed both hands quite a lot for the climbing. But needed the phone for nav, and probably good to have for emergency being on my own in such a remote area.

Run warm up/down 30:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Altra Lone Peak 3.5

Warm up in the cold, the tempo start but down the wrong track for 1km so back to the beginning to start again.
