Road Run 40:35
Traditional Monday night plod from Milngavie around Mugdock Reservoirs. Damp, but not windy, rainy or snowy, and so better weather than the last two weeks.
Terrain Run 1:13:56
Slow up and down Cort ma Law (well, at least as far as the cairn) "with" Alice (who started at the bottom, went through the carpark while I was still getting ready and went to the top, before crossing with me at the cairn) on Sunday afternoon in 73:56. Sunshine most of the way, but with gradually deepening snow all the way up, culminating in knee-deep snowdrifts near the top and with a very strong headwind on the way back. A bad day to forget my windproof jacket, but hat, gloves, thermal and thick running top just about kept me warm enough (but I'm glad we missed the rain and hail of earlier in the day).
Road Race race 30:27 5.0 km (6:05 / km)
Victoria parkrun #315 in 30:27. Another Saturday morning with a race in the afternoon, and so another very slow plod around a damp Victoria Park. Better weather (even some sunshine!) but bigger puddles than last week, and so we ran the course backwards (!) with a diversion to avoid the largest puddle.
Cross Country Race race 56:59 10.0 km (5:42 / km)
Finally, after all these years, I made my debut at the Scottish National Cross Country Championships! Three VERY muddy laps of Callendar Park in Falkirk in 56:59 for 10 K, getting lapped by the leaders but (just?) not by Thomas. Very unpleasant driving hail on the first lap, but otherwise not too bad. Steady effort and felt surprisingly good on the final lap, presumably meaning that I wasn't trying hard enough!
