Couldn't sleep after 3am as felt restless and thinking about this morning's adventure with a first time out with Catherine.
77.5 - 20.9 - 57.1
7 AM

Steady run (#1 Beach run wi Catherine) 1:16:36 [2] 10.64 km (7:12 / km) +58m 7:00 / km
ahr:142 max:160 shoes: Saucony Peregrine 5 (trail)

Very rewarding morning beach run with Catherine who is partially sighted. Wide expanse of the beach made it an easy session using her elastic lanyard. Only early difficulties from our first run together, are one or two early obstacles of bricks embedded in the sand and a few jellyfish. Also the differing sand consistencies and the tough, at times, softer sand made it a very worthwhile workout for both of us.

Chippy tea (mc&c) so slight increase.
Slight tender right thigh yesterday evening and today so wont do planned parkrun but will go watch if Elaine going (drizzly weather)
8 AM

warm up warm up/down (easy one re high HR) 7:52 [1] 1.13 km (6:58 / km) +3m 6:52 / km
ahr:135 max:170 shoes: Saucony Peregrine 5 (trail)

never felt like 170. Download a constantly high plateau but in truth the HR was nearer my breathing thresh of 142. Sandrunner agrees that it might be battery on the HR chest strap.

Felt okay on the warm up, the thigh was okaaaay. So have a gentle trot around the Parkrun
9 AM

Steady run (Hesketh Park Parkrun) 26:38 [3] 5.07 km (5:15 / km) +8m 5:13 / km
ahr:145 max:154 shoes: Saucony Peregrine 5 (trail)

Got a spike/plateau of 164 near the start but after 4 mins it levelled off to approz 145-150 throughout.

nice run - not too taxing - constant pace and didn't get dragged along in the last 500 by the finish draft

cool down warm up/down 12:08 [1] 1.7 km (7:08 / km) +5m 7:02 / km
ahr:129 max:140 shoes: Saucony Peregrine 5 (trail)

realistic HR for a steady cooldown

ahr:124 max:157 shoes: Inov8 Roclite 290's black Dec

Same route as last week except for an Albert trod just underneath the OOB cordon to meet the end of the proper Monday route by the barbed fence. Six of us out on a very wet Monday, the first run in the rain for some, in over two months. The end of the hot summer dry spell??
