Long sprint course at EP Tom Sawyer. Course was about route choices and not getting lost in the many trails. Not fully recovered from the Adventure race.

The short course at EP Tom Sawyer. Shorter but still had some challenging legs.

Adventure Race 7:05:00 [5]

Adventure Race 4pm to 12midnight - bad start to the race. Carl had a bad reaction to something he had eaten. He was in bad shape, we decided if he could not keep it down by the 1st control, we would need to turn around and go back. (It was several miles to the first control). He started to recover and even though he was not 100% we hit the 4 required TA's and 8 other checkpoints to be a finisher. About 4 hours on bike, 1.5 trekking and 1.5 on the kayaks. My first time on a bike in the dark and in the kayak in the dark. If I ever do it again in the dark, I will need to rethink the lighting. I'm continuing to learn the team dynamics. It really helps to have a second pair of eyes and a second mind to analyze things. Helps me a lot to have another person when I'm on the bike due to my car phobia. Great learning experience and we finished!
