Warm up before intervals with the athletic club.

Running intervals 43:00 [5] 6.0 mi (7:10 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Connect 3

Intervals on the trails on Linwood Moss. Legs totally shot after yesterday's race - really heavy and quite sore. Serves me right for not doing a cool down jog after the race yesterday!
Session was 10 x 3mins (90secs). Ran at the back of the pack 'cos my legs were so bad.

Running warm up/down 12:00 [3] 1.5 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Connect 3

Cool down run.

Sunday Mar 26 #

2 PM

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.5 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: ASICS Gel Hyper Speed 6

Warm up before the 6-Stage Road Relay Champs.

Running race 35:26 [5] 5.8 mi (6:07 / mi)
shoes: ASICS Gel Hyper Speed 6

National 6-Stage Road Relay Champs, Livingston on a beautiful sunny spring day. Found myself running Leg 6 for the Kilbarchan first team. Very nervous before the race!

I knew the first 1/3 of the course is mostly uphill so kept the pace steady and then tried to work hard to the finish. The course was slightly different to previous years with an extra steep hill just before the station which came as a nasty surprise.

Reasonably happy with my run as I ran as well as can be expected and only dropped 4 places - from 8th to 12th. I lost the four places in the first 2 miles then ran the rest of the race on my own.

Saturday Mar 25 #

9 AM

Running 29:00 [3] 4.0 mi (7:15 / mi)
shoes: ASICS Gel Hyper Speed 6

Was going to do the Linwood Parkrun and did a lap of the course as a warm up but the outside of my left calf was a bit sore so decided to be sensible and go for a steady run on the trails while Mrs P did her volunteering. I tweaked my calf yesterday when the chain on my bike slipped on the middle ring when I was standing on the pedals going up a hill. One of the things I need to fix on the bike, however with the better weather coming in I'll probably switch from my cheap and cheerful Decathlon winter bike to my Boardman.
