Victoria Parkrun on a lovely spring morning. Really tired and legs heavy so just plodded round. Got held up a few times on the third lap by slower runners who don't understand the instructions at the start and the signs saying keep left.

Two laps as a cool down. Hyperspeeds starting to show signs of old age but there doesn't seem to be an obvious replacement shoe available. Decisions, decisions, ......

Run from work to the Lomondgate SUDs pond, a few laps and back. Supposed to be recovery run and taking it easy but ended up running at the usual pace. Legs tired and both hamstrings quite tight.

Cycle home from work. Hard work in to the head wind from Old Kilpatrick, across the Erskine Bridge and home.

Track session with the athletic club at Linwood track. Session was 6 x ((300m (100m easy jog in 1min) + 600m (150m easy jog in 90secs)).
Really tired and slow and well off the pace at the start but picked things up towards the end.
What happened to the promised heatwave? Top temperature was 14C in the west.

Run from work at lunchtime up to Strathleven Industrial Estate, two laps of the path in the woods round the estate and back. Running okay but lower back a bit sore again. I think it might be the cycling?

Note

Training plans up in the air - I've been selected as one of the Scottish contingent for the M60 Celtic Nations team for the international vs England to be held at the Birmingham 10k road race on the 6th May.

I was supposed to be getting in to terrain in preparation for the British and Scottish Champs and specifically going to the GRAMP event at Glen Dye on the 6th May and staying on to go training (possibly in the Shooting Greens?) on the Monday.

Will have to think how I deal with this, but I guess my training with the athletic club plus a couple of other roads runs will be okay for the 10k, and I'll add terrain running for the orienteering.

Really pleased about this as it means I've been selected to run for Scotland at orienteering, cross country and roads as a M60!

Hill reps with the athletic club. 10 x Craigends Hill. Legs fairly gubbed and breathing not great but gave it my best shot. Also horrendous head wind on the up-hills.
