Mallow 10
First 10 miler and didn't know what to expect, especially after the week. Wasn't full of confidence starting out but decided to get around. There was meant to be a 95 minute balloon which I had initially planned on staying with but there was only a 90 balloon on the day. Figured that was too fast for me so just stood at the back of the start line instead. Start was down the hill and knew there was a bit of a continuous climb afterwards so decided to start passing people to get the legs moving before the climb. Was feeling good and confidence was up as I knew the lungs were ok. Saw the 90 balloon at the top of the climb, only 3km in so I was a bit worried I was too fast. Ended up passing out the balloon before the drinks station as there was bunching and managed to stay ahead for the rest. The last 4km is full of drags but I was still feeling good so just kept passing people and plugging on. Last 1km was a bit long but managed a sprint finish at the end (for no reason whatsoever!). Total 10 mile time: 88:24. Course slightly over, I think the person who measured started from the wrong place.

Test run
Not as improved as I had hoped. Kept the pace slow but still felt it on any bit of incline. Another sunny day should see me right.
