My youngest child Orion had a rough day, he was on the white longer than I was on the red today. I think I need to work on some specific training with him, a little more critical thinking and relocating skills. It sounded like he kept going down the same wrong trail looking for one of his controls not realizing there was another trail that he should have been going down. He seems to have recovered from it though, mentally. Physically he is fine also. It was good that I was on the red, better that I didn't know. Merick had the fine presence of mind, when he saw him come near the finish area, to shadow him for the remainder of his race.

I am happy to have been able to do as much as I did this weekend. Going into it, I didn't think I would have been able to. I had a few strange calf muscle twinges on the ride home, but no soreness yet. I think I am going to try to gradually ramp up some running mileage again.

Despite Orion's mishap, we agreed we had a good weekend. The weather was great.

Thanks to Valerie for suggesting the yellow course. My leg feels okay.
