Trail Run 1:39:23 7.05 mi (14:06 / mi) +160m 13:10 / mi
Three loops of the nature trail; running the wood chip parts and walking the golf cart path sections. One mile warm-up and -down walking.
Moved pretty well considering the cool, damp conditions with the wind blowing drizzle from the NE.
Knee hurt a bit during the last couple running sections, but not much afterwards.

While pretty much everyone else was at West Point, I continued my SRT excursion. This trek again went from Jenny Lane to Castle Point and then on to Mud Pond using some different trails for the first part. Walked out to the point at Castle Rock and looked down. Was that a trail? Yup..there's the blazes. I briefly thought about skipping this section, but carefully climbed down the rock ledges. Wasn't as bad as it looked. A couple of more rock scrambles followed.
Reached Mud Pond which was lake sized and not muddy at all. After a a couple miles of double back, I switched off to the carriage trails that ran by Lake Awosting. Nice big and very pretty lake. Started to meet lots of other hikers at this point and for the rest of the day, I guess most folks don't start as early as I do.
Todays wildlife included a porcupine and two snakes. The first one did his stick imitation and the second one pretended he was a rattlesnake by shaking his tail in some dry vegetation.
Knee hurt a bit on and off.. The last hour was starting to get tough. Felt a few thigh twinges. Still 5 hours was a good test. Iced afterwards.
The Kerhonkson microbrewery I was looking for after the hike appears to have gone out of business. Darnn.
