Probably avoided a lower airway bacterial infection and long lasting sinusitis by taking antibiotics ( phenoxymethylpenicillin, 2 mill IE x 3, 10 days). This would normally not be necessary. Saline nose spray is very useful to clean the nose in a gentle way, and probably speeds up recovery by preventing mucus retention.details
