The next WPOC sponsored orienteering event is coming up on October 27 at Laurel Hill State Park, Willis Pavilion. This event will include a special extra course, see below.
On site registration and start will go from 11 am to 2 pm as usual; and the map fee is still $6 for non-members and $5 for members (however minors will be given a map free). I have designed five challenging courses for you to try: Beginner (2.0 km), Novice (3.0 km), Intermediate (4.4 km), Advanced Short (4.1 km) and Advanced Long (6.8 km). There will be an additional beginner course (2.0 km) that will be free for everyone; it was designed by Aaron Shissler for his merit badge. Please preregister so we make enough maps for everyone; go to http://www.wpoc.org/preregistration.htm Notes: Preregistration does not involve paying any money. You can use this same link to cancel your preregistration if you need to. The deadline for preregistering is October 24.
For driving directions, go to http://www.wpoc.org/laurelhillflyer.htm
Don't forget, if you are bringing a minor who is not your son or daughter, you need to bring a waiver signed by the minor's parent (obtainable under Orienteering Events at www.wpoc.org ).
