Batona Trail Races

The Batona 55 Miler and 33 Miler

The Batona 55 miler is a point-to-point trail race along the entire length of the Batona Trail in the beautiful New Jersey Pine Barrens, starting at Ong’s Hat and finishing at Bass River. The course includes a 1.5-mile section linking the Batona trail terminus to the finish line at Lake Absegami in Bass River State Forest. We will also host a 33 mile option that starts at Carranza Memorial at 8am. Shuttles will be provided the morning of the race to transport runners from the finish line parking to both start lines. Both the 55 miler and the 33 miler will be supported by well stocked aid stations. The entire trail is marked with pink blazes as it traverses vast tracts of the Pinelands National Reserve. The Pinelands is one of New Jersey’s most beautiful treasures and is home to many rare and endangered plants including swamp pink, pitcher plants, and many species of orchids. We are lucky to be able to explore such a beautiful landscape on foot (and in our home state!), so please stay on the trail to minimize our impact.
