A 3 hour race of two halfs.
The first half in daylight, the second in darkness.
18 Checkpoints available in the daylight, 9 in the darkness. The rider decides how many, or few of each they collect.
A small transitional period (up to 30 mins) between the day & night courses will be included to allow time to gear your bikes for the night time (and to ensure it is dark before you start the night leg)
The daylight course will be of a regular technicality, with the night course being more on forest tracks / quiet country lanes.
Starts will be from 1430 but no-one will be allowed to start the night course until 1730 ( or when the organiser deems it to be dark)
A rider could spend all their 3 hours on the daylight course if they wish but to achieve maximum points a rider would need to complete both courses. Deciding what time you start would depend on how much time you wish to allocate to each course. Start too early and you may run out of CPs to collect before the night course opens, Start too late and you may still be collecting daylight CPs in the dark!!!
