1) Registration and start will be at a place we have never used before, the southeast end of the beach parking area in the east part of the park - see driving directions below. Also happening in the beach parking area on the same day: a farmers market.
2) The only shelter will be our canopy. So if you want to sit down, you might want to bring your own chair. (Volunteers at registration and start/finish will have chairs provided.)
3) I have designed five courses: Beginner 2.2 km, Novice 3.2 km, Intermediate 4.2 km, Advanced short 3.7 km and Advanced long 6.7 km - that is not different. What is different is that regardless of which course you choose, you will be going to a part of the park that your course has not gone for 6 years, a part that was only used during the Keystone Capers.
Registration and start goes from 11 am to 2 pm as usual. Map fee is $6 as usual. For more information, go to www.wpoc.org
Don't forget, if you are bringing a minor who is not your son or daughter, you need to bring a waiver signed by the minor's parent (obtainable under Club Documents at www.wpoc.org ).
I hope to see you there.
Driving directions: From U.S. Route 22 in New Alexandria, take Route 981 south for 0.25 miles to Keystone Park Rd. Turn left onto Keystone Park Rd (SR 1018) and follow it 2.8 miles to the Keystone State Park. Once you reach the park, look for the beach area on the right. We will be at the south east end of the beach parking lot.. This is not a location we have ever used before for registration.
