How much adventure can you handle?

Orienteering allows you to choose the amount of adventure you are up for.

This will be the inaugural meet in the South Bend IN area. Here is an opportunity to explore some of the less travelled places in your parks and neighboring areas.

For those new to orienteering, welcome!

The cost is $10. This fee includes one map with a course pre-printed on it (the map is yours to keep), the loan of one SI-card, and the loan of one compass.

The fee for club members is $7 with a $2 discount if you have your own SI-card.

Time schedule:
10:00 am – St Patrick's County Park opens. Gate fee is $5 per vehicle.

10:30 am – On-site registration opens & Beginner Instruction. If you are planning to come for the instruction, let Thurston Miller know!

Start Window – 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Start any time during the window. You can do multiple courses for no additional cost as long as reuse your map and you start during the window.

Eight courses available:
Trail Run / Beginner:
- White (2.5 km)
- Pink (8.3 km)
Intermediate:
- Yellow (3.4 km)
Advanced:
- Orange (4.8 km)
Expert:
- Brown (4.6 km)
- Green (6.1 km)
- Red (8.0 km)
- Blue (10.5 km)

Every course will have at least one control point in two states.

This is a recently mapped area that includes the former farm of the Sisters of the Holy Cross and a former Christmas tree farm. The map has a 7-10 meter ridge line running parallel to the St. Joseph River. Vladimir Zherdev mapped the area Dec 2015.

St. Patrick's County Park has generously suspended their rules prohibiting off-trail usage for this meet. The private property owners have generously allowed us to use their property for this meet. Give all the property owners thanks for this opportunity.
