Join the Tucson Orienteering Club on May 16 & 17, 2009 for a rogaine on the Mogollon Rim in central Arizona. John Maier, course setter for the 2004 World Rogaining Championships, is returning to terrain much like he chose for the 1998 and 2000 Arizona rogaines. These runnable ponderosa pine forests are at 7000 ft elevation. Many elk! No swamps! Free, on-site camping is available at the site the nights before and after the event to help you acclimate and recover.

Categories offered for teams will be 24, 12 or 8 hours with age divisions of juniors, open, veterans and superveterans. A special 8 hour individual category is also available. This weekend was chosen both for its half moonlit, half dark night and to fit neatly into the narrow seasonal band of post-snowfall and pre-fire season.

Those of you who have attended previous Tucson Orienteering Club events will find this event very similar: relaxed and friendly with a no frills hash house and accurately, beautifully placed controls.
